12 the heart of the matter

Now lounged out at high noon on the disturbed grass with the tablet in his outstretched arms Thraesh watches videos, Oscar stands on the other side of the yard "do I call you Mr?" With out moving "mo such formalities from Miron3 apply to me, I am simply Thraesh of Qwince, I respond to my name, and my name alone." Puzzled "what's Miron3?"  Here. Others have dubbed this solar system Miron for its resemblance to their own and we are on the 3rd planetoid." "Oooohhhhhhhhhhhh, so what are you doing here anyway?" Thraesh pauses his video and rolls over to his back and then sits up "I came to observe and learn. Lima has provided me hospitality and support, he will get my full report once it is complied." Roger looks out the window and asks his grandma "you gotta tell me everything grandma, what's it like having a alien under your pool? Have you always been cool with an alien in the backyard? What's Thraesh like? Why is dad so worried about him? What happened? Did he threaten him with his fangs and claws? Or was it his space ship? Wait where's his space ship now? Is it under the house?does everything g here transform into a part of the ship? Is grandpa's chair the command seat? I bet I can find a door to the ship in the basement? Why are we not in space? Wait are we going to space now that Thraesh is out from under the pool? I cant wait to tell the kids from school and my game about going to space? How can I tell anyone dad told me this is a family secret like I  the movies, one we dont tell people, but how come no one knows about this? Grandma is the government gonna find out? Are they gonna take us away and cut Thraesh up into little tiny peices? Wait are we gonna fight the government? Is the MEN IN BLACK who is gonna come get us? Are we working with the MEN I BLACK? I saw all the movies this year, aliens are cool. But a mini Kiaju is even cooler, did you know Kiaju means big monster? Grandma can I go outside now?

10 past present future all connect

With the back yard a mess they dump the charcoal into the whole the lizard made and he climbs in behind it for a warm nights sleep. The two say goodnight to Lima as his wife washes dishes and tells Oscar "see you tomm" as roger snape "not with that threat looming in the yard" his mother stops what she is doing "dispite your father I have kept you alive and I'll be damned if you grandson won't outlive us all"

The sun rises to a half built shed and roaring bbq and shovels placed around the yard. Lima know is on his neighbors door " hey Hal, ima try and make that movie again now with my grandsons help" "that moster movie with the animatronics, why dont you try CG, its easier" "naw I'm using it to teach the grandson hands on skill instead of adding another reason for him to play on the computer"

The sun rises a little more into the morning "roger runs around the kitchen as lima keeps busy and Theeash builds the shed. "I'll need power and then supplies from my ship" "no can do Area51 is a problem for me, it would raise eyes and questions" "threats deserve weaponry, challenges deserve attention, yet we deserve to be rewarded for our efforts" "you figure out how to make me richer and my family prosper and you can learn hide help conquer influence in peace with me here" "in your time of passing your progeny will not aid me" "Roger is snake bitten, no disrespect but that boy inside he's curious and with that we have a chance"

9 its it's not a hello without a welcome

Thraesh still standing climbs out of the pool onto the grass to drop dry. He looks at the sun and squats down with his back to it. "Lima I need food, my hibernation was extended and I tapped reserves." Lima walks inside "boys we are throwing a BBQ! Oscar get all the meat from the deep freezer. Roger I may need you to make a run to the store." Grandpa the old deer and bison meat! That stuff's old grandpa I dont want that." "For complaining you get grandmas leftovers and that not for you it's for my guest of honor" roger looks at his father with disappointment "he gets a bbq and I'm going to the store for what now?" Lima grabs his wallet "the biggest tablet you can find with extra damage protection, a sheed at least 15 by 15, and some bbq supplies meat charcoal sauce, you know the works. Oh and plenty to drink for the three of us!" 

With the sun getting closer to setting meat cooked the grandfather and father sitting in lounge chairs sharing beers roger runs up "grandpa that was so cool how Thrarsh eat those giant chunks of meat whole bones and all" the two men in unison respond "that's nothing" and look at each other the grandfather laughing and the father looking sad. The father "and that's why I told you what I told you I side the house" lima looks at roger "not this again, you are safe, dont be small minded" roger swings his beer "I saw what I saw and feel how I feel, you act like it's an imposibility" lima says "he said one joke and you paint him for life"

OSCAR shouts to Thraesh "what you doing?" He responds "fighting of lethargy, I've woken, eaten absorbed heat and desire rest. Yet this research is enthralling, you warmbloods have shifted immensely since I last engaged your history and culture. Your hair has gotten smaller and for some bigger"

Roger drags Oscar inside the house "son, listen no matter what grandpa tells you, do not get close to Tharsh. That is a direct order,  do not disobey it." Roger looking scared asks "what has he done?" Roger looks his son square in The eye "nothing thativeseen but the potential for something to happen to you is to high, icant live with out you. So do not get to close to him" understanding the love his father has for him "okdad, I won't let him hurt me"

Outside , lima leans over the pool as Thraesh circles the pool, it is larger enough for his large body and tail to swim around. "I was beginning to forget about you, I thought the time would never be right. How long do we have?" Bubbling the water Thraesh exhales and raises his head "that is a conversation for another time. Tell what has changed since my time away?"  With the only grin "I won't tell you I'll show you, we have a mobile connected data network with limitless access to historical and cultural archives. Like you told me the future was near and we will all be connected" thraesh opens his eyes "has it been bennificial?" Lima shakes his head "people have made money but most use it to waste time" thraesh stands "so I will go unnoticed now."  "Yes you will"

7 crocodile tears

With a deep breath the giant lizard belly flops into the pool and sinks to the bottom as the water gets muddy brown. Oscar gripping his dad "grandpa is it ok to be that close to him?" Lima looks back with a frown of disappointment "that is small minded thinking! This is my friend and a guest in my house, if I saw he's my friend that means he's family." Roger finished his father sentence "family can be dangerous, and 800lbs of muscle and teeth from another planet tends to raise suspicion! Why am I explaining this, Oscar let's go, grab your stuff from inside" like a whale a exhale shoots a spray of water upward as the mo ster floats to the top mostly sunk in the water his nostrils above the water. He inhales, and with the mud cleared from his eyes he peels back the internal eyelids. The milky white eyes move and his pupils shrink in the daylight and he focuses on Roger and lifts hi head out of the water "Lima, your progeny has survived and grown well, I feared for him as he was so terrified. Young Roger, what do I call you now?" Roger shouts "roger, just roger" Oscar looks up to his dad "you know him too, grandpa says he's ok and I dont want to judge cause he looks kinda cool you know like a people sized giant monster. But if you dont like him then he might be l I'll keep a bad guy right?" Lima smirks and asks roger "yes son tellem what king of person Thraesh is" after dunking back in the water after the last time he spoke the lizard rises up "roger update us on your evaluation of my presence please" roger looks his dad right in the eye "dont let the manners fool you, that is a threat to not just us but the whole world"

End credits then Thraesh turns to tell Lima "update me later, confirm this is of your brood and not a motherless hatchling inserted in your nest" lima laughs and tells the lizard "there is a test for that and a guy on tv who spends an hour telling people if they are or are not the father of the kid" (trash tv but entertainment)

6 damn... damn? damn!

Oscar looks up in shock and sees a giant lizard man covered in mud, its eyes all white and a scowl on his face. It exhales hard and two globs of mud come out of its nostrils. Oscar runs to his dad and they bother scream "its attaching!" the grandfather slaps his forehead and at the same time the lizard snaps its head towards the voices. The two freeze as roger takes a slow step back while covering g his sons mouth. The monster opens his mouth and speaks "Lima, it's to bright out to see you, your voice has changed" grandpa shouts over "it's been a long time that's Roger and his son you heard screaming. You scared them clearing your nostrils." The two still scared look over at grandfather oscar asks "grandpa, what do we do? Does your friend bite?" The grand father responds "you've never seen his teeth yet, you are starting to sound like your dad" roger whispers thru his teeth "I've seen him bite and if he has been down there 30 years I bet he's hungry!" Grandfather walks from the back porch toward the giant "let me take you to the pool so you can rinse off, dont drink the water my grandson might have peed in it" being led by the hand the lizard responds "so I should have that pheromone solution all over my body? You hospitality requires adjustment"

The father shouts "crap!" The grandfather let's him know in a serious face "you've seen worse than this, with all your horror movies and conspiracy stories" the grand son looks closely and shouts in surprise "he's got 4 fingers and claws, grand paw what is he?" The hand digs and clears out more dirt and leaves a trail of ruined lawn from under the pool towards the backyard. " I used to work for the government and got to meet some interesting people from some far off places" the son sees the dirt rise as a large mass pushes it up "the truth now, before he sees something he doesn't  understand" the grandsons eyes go wide as he watches the dirt fall to the side and his grand father says "this is THRESH OF QWINCE, the fifth planet in our solar system, but you dad use to call him - in the main titles font - "THE JOVIAN LIZARD" and under the title stands a mud and dirt stained white space suit wearing 8ft lizardman with a long snout and gold eyes with dilated black pupils. Green scales and claws like bird talons.

4 worth the wait, not the cost

The ground rumbles, the pool splashes violently. "You had me help you dig that hole I that blazing summer. Said we were gonna get a pool to beat the heat from here in out. You said permits and u underground pipes mad you change the plan and then we filled the whole and I never understood why we had so much dirt left. You told me we would use it to reinforce the above ground pool. You know how stupid i feel right now. How stupid!" The grand son asks his dad "what's wrong, why is the pool a bad thing now?" The grand father smiles and tells the grandson "your dad loves that pool I bet he has his swim trunks on under his pants ready to get in, but he"s always felt funny about my friend because he's a while lot different them most" the son tells the father "different! He's not from here and everything he says is proof some thing bad is going to happen" the grand sons face gives off a puzzled stare "is he from russia?" The grand father laughs "no think further" and in unison the grand father jokingly and the son disappointedly say "think past mars". The ground splits and a dirt covered hand grips the grass

3 lost now found

The father runs out side to the back of the house and sees the water still splashing out of the above ground pool. His son, the grand son stands in the chest deep water "dad this is insane, it was loud a second ago and now the waters shaking!" As the grand father walks out from the back door "roger what's all the panic for?" The son does not look back and shouts "Oscar I need you out of that pool right now." The grand son looks up and is saddened "but dad this is getting so cool!" The dad refusing to take a step further "buddy, i need you to do this NOW!" Roger looks back at his father "you said he left!" The father shrugs down ward "I said he was gone" as the grand son walks up to the two dripping wet "who's gone?" The father stiffly replies to his father "left and gone mean not here anymore, they mean you won't one day watch him rise from under a pool where my son, your grandson is playing, it means for 30 years there is not gonna be a secret in the back yard!" The grand father looks at the grandson "oscar, I had a friend from far away come stay with me a while, the weird thing is your dad thought he left but he just needed to.......... i dont even know how to say it 'sleep'. The grand son looks back at the pool "theres a secret lair under the pool! When do we go down there! Dad why didn't you tell me grandpa has a hero base under his house!" The father pulls the son close as he tries to walk to the pool "theres no hero here, not to me anyway"

2 memory lane is a bad address

A son, a grown man now visits his father to pick up his own son from a weekend visit with the grandparents, in his polo shirt he goes inside to see his father reading the newspaper. Still always dressing as if he is about to go out in his short sleeve button down shirt. "Hey dad, where's Oscar?" His dad looks up and smiles "out back, swimming in the pool" the son looks upset "and you watching him how while he's drinking a belly full of water?" The dad gets serious "look behind you I moved the mirror so I could see him from my chair" all of a sudden a roar and a tremble shake the house the son goes pale and terror takes him "it cant be......"

1 hey dad

Let's say 30 years ago, a boy playing in his back yard with his towel wrapped around his neck as a Cape and a toy blaster that his father passed down to him, runs around. His dad shouts 'who you chasing space man?' The boy points the bulbous ray gun blaster at his dad 'pirates who robbed the orphanage, they took the field trip money!' The dad I. His short sleeve button down shirt raises his arms 'I hope you dont this k I'm one of them, I came with a space friend and I know he's no pirate'  the boys jaw drops 'you brought an astronaut over!' The dad shrugs 'not an astronaut but a space man, one we are not gonna tell people about!' The boys face looks confused and then surprised 'you brought an alien from the dark side of the moon home! Mom's not gonna let us keep him here!' The father laughs and tell the son to "THINK PAST MARS" (that will be the title logo for the first time)

Now I want to plot out this story and then go back and refi e it as I complete this. If i ever find an artist I'll be a hell of a long way forward
